Electrification is the big residential energy story of this decade. Going from gas to all-electric — heat pump HVAC, heat pump water heater, induction range, EV — saves money over the long run, dramatically reduces home carbon emissions, and ties into California's grid + incentive structure that increasingly favors electric.
We do the electrical side. We don't sell heat pumps or water heaters — that's your HVAC contractor or plumber's call. We size the circuits, run the wire, install the breakers, handle the panel-capacity check, pull the permits, and coordinate with your other contractors. The two halves of a heat pump install (the electrical side from us + the HVAC side from your installer) work better when they're coordinated from day one.
Most electrification projects start with the same conversation: can my panel handle the new loads? Often the answer is no, and the panel upgrade is sequenced first. Sometimes the answer is "yes, but tight" — in which case we recommend upsizing now to avoid panel-creeping later as you electrify one appliance at a time.
The federal tax credit picture changed at the end of 2025. Section 25D (the 30% solar and battery credit) expired December 31, 2025 — and Section 25C, the Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit covering heat pumps and a supporting panel upgrade, ended on the same date. There is no federal residential energy credit for 2026 work. What remains is state and utility money: PG&E and Central Coast Community Energy rebates, SGIP for battery storage, and GoGreen Home financing, which is unaffected.

Replacing your gas furnace with a heat pump means new electrical: a dedicated circuit sized for the heat pump's draw, plus the aux heat strip if equipped. We do the electrical side and coordinate with your HVAC contractor.
Replacing a gas water heater with a heat pump unit needs a dedicated 240V circuit at the right amperage. We size, install, permit, and coordinate with your plumber.
Going gas-to-induction needs the right 240V circuit. We size it to your range, install the receptacle, and pull the permit.
