What we do and don't do
We do NOT sell your personal information for money. We never have.
We do “share” some information with advertising platforms for cross-context behavioral advertising. Specifically: Google Ads conversion tracking, so we can measure which marketing campaigns drive calls and bookings; and, for existing customers only, Google Ads customer audiences, where we share a one-way hashed version of your email, phone, or name and postal code so we can stop showing you new-customer ads or show you offers relevant to past work. Google cannot turn the hashed value back into your details. Under California's broad definition, both may count as “sharing,” so we treat them that way.
If we ever begin advertising on additional platforms (Meta/Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.), we will update this page and the cookie inventory at /cookies before that happens. They are not active now.
How to opt out
You have four ways to opt out. Any one of them works for your browser; existing customers should also use the fourth.
- Cookie Settings panel. Click “Cookie Settings” in the footer of any page. Toggle “Marketing” off. Your choice persists for a year.
- One-click opt out. The “Opt Out Now” button at the top of this page records your choice in your browser; you don't have to enter anything.
- Browser signals. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal or a Do Not Track (DNT) signal, we treat it as an automatic opt-out — no banner, no manual step. Brave, Firefox, and some Chrome extensions send GPC by default.
- Existing customers: tell us. The three options above control your browser. If you are a customer and want your details removed from our advertising audiences, email service@sunriseelectricalcontracting.com or call (831) 786-5506 and say “remove me from advertising audiences.” We flag your customer record the same business day, and your details are removed from Google at the next weekly update, within seven days.
After opting out in your browser, we will no longer share your browsing-based information with advertising platforms for behavioral advertising. If you are an existing customer, the fourth option above also removes your hashed contact details from our advertising audiences. Essential analytics and service-delivery information sharing will continue (we cannot operate without it).
Additional California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, you also have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, and share
- Request a copy of your personal information (portability)
- Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal exceptions (e.g., we must retain records of completed jobs for warranty + tax purposes)
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Limit our use of sensitive personal information
- Non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights
To exercise any of these rights, email service@sunriseelectricalcontracting.com or call (831) 786-5506. We will respond within 45 days (extendable to 90 days with notice). We may need to verify your identity by matching information you provide against information in our system.
