We're Sunrise.

Santa Cruz County's service-first residential electrician. Family-owned, founded in 2022 by Branden H.

01·The story

The whole company is built around one gap: the small service work most contractors won't take. We're a service business, not a construction business. We answer the phone. Our office staff is in the office during business hours. After hours, you get a real backup answering service, not a voicemail box. Our trucks are stocked with the parts we need for everyday service calls — outlets, breakers, switches, GFCIs, AFCIs, common LED fixtures, dedicated-circuit wire — so we can knock out small jobs in the same visit instead of scheduling a return trip three weeks later. The software stack we use is built around scheduling small jobs efficiently, not around managing six-month new-construction projects.

That means we'll do something as simple as replacing one light fixture (with our standard minimum service-call fee). Most contractors won't. We will.

We do bigger things too — panel upgrades, whole-home rewires, EV chargers, generators, solar and battery installs, electrification projects, ADU electrical setups, all the stuff that takes a real crew. But we never lose sight of the small stuff, because the small stuff is what tells you whether your electrician actually cares about your home. The founder story — why Branden started Sunrise in 2022 — is at About Branden.

02·How we work

Five things we hold to on every job. Not aspirational — these are the actual operating rules.

01
We're a service business.

Construction contractors are optimized for new builds — six-month projects with big invoices. We're optimized for the homes you already live in. Quick scheduling. Single-visit fixes. Honest pricing on small jobs.

02
We answer the phone.

Office staff during business hours (8am–5pm PT, Mon–Fri). After-hours emergency calls are answered around the clock and routed to the on-call electrician. Non-emergency questions left after hours get a real callback the next business morning. No “we'll get back to you sometime” voicemail loop.

03
We respect your home.

When we're at someone's home, we treat it as their largest investment and most personal space. Drop cloths down. Wires fished through existing walls instead of opening up drywall. Smaller access holes when we have to cut. Vacuumed up after. Space left the way we found it — better, actually, since the electrical works now.

04
20-year workmanship guarantee.

Twenty years on every installation we do. Transferable to the next homeowner. Unusually long for residential electrical, and we mean it — the work we do today should still be safe and working in 2046. Full warranty terms.

05
Family-run + local.
