AHRI — Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute
AHRI is the industry trade association that certifies the performance of HVAC equipment. AHRI testing verifies a manufacturer's claimed efficiency ratings (SEER2, HSPF2, UEF for water heaters, etc.) against standardized test conditions, producing an AHRI certificate that documents the certified ratings for a specific equipment configuration (indoor unit + outdoor unit combination).

Why it matters in Santa Cruz County
The AHRI certificate records certified performance ratings for your equipment. Keep it with the job paperwork and check the requirements of any rebate programme you apply to.
