Sunrise's free whole-home electrical inspection is a no-cost, no-obligation 1-2 hour on-site visit by one of our licensed techs. We walk your home, examine your panel, sample your outlets and switches, look at your service entrance, identify anything that's hazardous, anything that's noncompliant with current code, and anything that's just inefficient (old fluorescents, undersized circuits, etc.).

You get a written report before we leave — we go through it with you on site, and email you a copy — covering: what we found, what's safe to leave alone, what's worth fixing, what's urgent, and rough cost ranges for any recommended work. No pressure to book anything. The report is yours to keep, share with other contractors, or just have on file.

The free inspection is genuinely free. Sunrise doesn't charge a "service fee," "trip charge," or "diagnostic fee" for the visit. We do it because most homeowners don't know what condition their electrical is in, and a 1-2 hour look usually surfaces a few things worth knowing about — sometimes one of those things is urgent.

Eligibility: any Santa Cruz County homeowner. Renters are eligible only with written landlord permission OR in genuine electrical emergencies. Limit one free inspection per home (lifetime) — once a home has had its free inspection, follow-up visits are paid (with the minimum service-call fee). New owners of a home that's already used its free inspection: contact us; we'll figure out the right path.

A free inspection is the cheapest way to find out where your electrical actually stands. Plenty of inspections end with "your house is fine" — and that's a useful piece of information, not a wasted visit. When we DO find something, the report explains it clearly with a quote you can act on or sit on.
